Eligibility for participation in EFL Championship

  • Executive Committee established the “2014 Revised version of regulation details” as below.
    This condition is applied equally to every participant in the EFL Championship.

  • Definition of EFL Championship
  • - EFL(English as a foreign language) is for students who do not come from a first-language English-

    speaking family. In other words, EFL is a special round for a student who fails to reach the finals. If a student satisfies the following criteria, he/she may participate in an EFL team.

    - They have not lived in English-speaking countries and do not come from an English-speaking family

    or have not received education in an overseas international school for more than two years.

  • Application for registration and Championship proceedings
  • - All team members of a team who participate in an EFL league should include their

    Proof of Immigration as an attachment with the application form for registration.

    Proof of Immigration is issued by the e-Government of the Republic of Korea and the Civic Service Office.
    Proof of Immigration should be submitted as an electronically scanned file with the application form so please keep in mind to receive the document in advance and prepare it as a scanned file.


  • - A student with two years or less experience abroad on his/her Proof of Immigration is only

    eligible for participation in the EFL league.


  • - After the release of teams that have reached the quarter-finals(round 32 or 16)of the main event,

    the teams that failed to reach the finals, and selected teams will be able to compete in EFL round 8 (or round 16) based on the grades of the preliminary round.


  • Eligibility for participation in EFL Championship
  • - Executive Committee has applied below detailed regulations to the calculation method of the length

    of stay abroad from 2012 taking into consideration management status of past EFL Championships.


  • - In order to participate in the EFL, all team members (three-members per middle and high school

    team four-members per elementary school team) should have two years or less experience abroad.


  • - The period to age 5 in full from the date of his/her birth is not counted as the length of stay

    aboard.


  • - If a student has 15 days or less experience from entry and exit based on the proof of immigration,

    the experience is not counted as the length of stay abroad as it is not deemed to have been for an educational purpose.
